While I Wait for You
Written by Hwang Ji-woo
While I wait for you
Here, where you have are to come,
where I arrived ahead of you,
Every step drawing near
Is pounding in my heart,
Every single rustling leaf is coming to me.
Anyone who has waited knows—
What in the world can be as heartbreaking as waiting?
Here, where you are to come, where I arrived ahead of you,
Everybody who opens the door
Was you
Was you, might be you,
And then the door shuts.
O my beloved,
While I wait for you—now I am finally going to you
You, who would not come.
From very far I am going to you
And for a long time you are coming to me.
While I wait for you, I am going
To you, who from very far have ever so slowly been coming still.
Through the door by which others come in,
Following every step pounding in my heart,
I am going to you—while I wait for you.
